9th Annual Red Cross Golf Classic a Huge Success at Brooklawn

^{$5000 cash prize was a 50-foot "almost" putt}

 The 9th^th Annual Red Cross Golf Classic to benefit the Mid Fairfield County Chapter has been labeled the best ever by the hundred players who scrambled recently at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield. From the classy blue sweater vests given as tee gifts by Feroleto Steel at registration, to the car put up for a Hole-In-One by Curran Volkswagen, to the $5000 cash prize putting contest, to the raffle, auction and awards- the excitement never ended

“We appreciate the support of the golfers and our sponsors.” said a happy Lyn McCarthy, Chief Development and Public Relations Officer who chaired the event. “The commitment of our major sponsor, UnitedHealthcare assured that our golf tournament would be a success.” The tournament raised $50,000 for programs and services at the local Red Cross chapter which serves residents of Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Norwalk, Stratford, Trumbull, Weston, Westport and Wilton                                                       

Awards went to golfers from many cities who came from nearly all the chapter’s towns, as well as surrounding communities and states. Fairfield golfers were in many of the foursomes and counted among the winners for the day.
